Two Versions of Chinese Tattoos for Love
Chinese symbol for love actually has two versions: the traditional Chinese love symbol VS the simplified Chinese love symbol.
On the left, is the traditional Chinese love and character and on the right is the simplified version of Chinese symbol for Love. The difference between the two versions isn't that huge. The only difference is that in comparison with the traditional "Chinese love symbol (愛), you will find that there is one little element of "心" missing from its simplified counterpart (爱). This element "心" is actually the Chinese symbol for heart. It is called "shin". As mentioned elsewhere on this website, people from mainland China use the simplified Chinese characters while people from Taiwan and Hong Kong are using the traditional characters.
No wonder sometimes, Taiwanese people will tease people from mainland China that mainland Chinese express their love without their hearts?
The pronunciation of Chinese love symbol is very easy to remember, which is very similar to that of the English word -
"Eye". Can you say EYE in English? So you can also say Love in Chinese.
