These symbols are the traditional version of Chinese animal zodiac symbols and are mainly written in Hong Kong, Taiwan
areas. But in mainland China, people are using the simplified animal zodiac symbols for calendar or wall papers.
The Simplified Chinese Animal Zodiac Symbols
The 12 symbols listed above represent are the simplified Chinese animal zodiac symbols, which are presented
in the same order as the traditional zodiac symbols shown above. As you can see, most of the
simplified zodiac animal symbols are written in the same way as their traditional version. But for some zodiac symbols such
as Dragon, Horse, Chicken, Doggy and Piggy, there is some difference between the two
versions. The difference between the traditional Chinese dragon symbol and the simplified symbols is
huge. The traditional version of Chinese dragon is written as "龍", but in mainland China, the same
dragon symbol is simplified as "龙". Both "龍" and "龙"
mean exactly the same thing "Dragon"
